Chiaro! A1 enthält alles in einem: Kursbuch mit integriertem Arbeitsbuch, die Lösungen des Arbeitsbuchs, eine Verbtabelle, eine Audio-CD und eine Lerner-CD-ROM.

Das Kursbuch enthält 10 Lektionen sowie drei Wiederholungseinheiten. Jede Lektion umfasst ca. 10 - 12 Seiten und ist wie folgt aufgebaut:
- Einstiegsseite: Klar formulierte Lernziele und Einführung in das Thema der Lektion
- Lektionsteil: Authentische und lebendige Hördialoge sowie Lesetexte als Grundlage für handlungsorientierte Kommunikation
- Culture a confronto: Erwerb von interkultureller Kompetenz durch Vermittlung von landeskundlichem Hintergrundwissen
- Grammatica e comunicazione: Grammatik und kommunikative Wendungen auf einen Blick
- Portfolio-Seite: Eigenständiges Überprüfen der Lernfortschritte und Reflektieren über Lernziele und -strategien

In den Wiederholungseinheiten (Ancora più chiaro) wird das Erlernte durch kreative Projektarbeit in handlungsorientierten Aufgaben umgesetzt und spielerisch wiederholt.

Das integrierte Arbeitsbuch bietet Übungen zu allen Lektionen des Kursbuches: zahlreiche und vielfältige Aufgaben zur Konsolidierung von Grammatik, Wortschatz und Kommunikation sowie zusätzliche Hörtexte, Phonetik-Übungen, ein Dossier und drei Tests. Die Lösungen aller Aufgaben des Arbeitsbuchteils sind in einem separaten Heft aufgeführt.

Der Anhang enthält eine systematische Grammatikübersicht, eine lektionsbezogene Wortschatzliste sowie ein alphabetisches Wortschatzverzeichnis.

Eine herausklappbare Verbtabelle zeigt die wichtigsten unregelmäßigen Verben auf einen Blick.

Die Audio-CD bietet alle Hörmaterialien aus dem Kursbuch.

Die Lerner-CD-ROM enthält alle Hörtexte aus dem Arbeitsbuch als Audio-Datei sowie als MP3-Datei. Zusätzlich sind die Grammatikübersicht, die Lektionswortschatzliste sowie die Portfolioseiten als PDF-Datei und als offene Datei zum eigenen Bearbeiten aufgeführt.
